Academic Development
Bunya Campus students are expected to participate in four study sessions per week to maintain or improve their academic development. Residential Support Teachers are here each night to provide guidance, support, feedback and extra tutoring across all KLAs in order to assist with the overall Grade Point Average GPA of each resident. Students are expected to be punctual, arrive with all necessary study requirements, work for the duration of their study session and behave according to the Responsible Behaviour Plan. Students who do not comply with study routines may lose privileges such as down town visits, in addition to cancellation of organised activities in consultation with parents. Persistently disruptive or unproductive students will be given consequences as determined by the RBP.
The Residential Support Teachers spend one full day per week visiting the classrooms of residential students. These visits have proved the RST with the opportunity to observe and monitor student's productivity during class and helps maintain consistency with both Nicholson and Bunya campus class expectations allowing for a more in depth focus during their study sessions after school.
